All the Bible Studies I Did in 2019

Consider this post to be part 3 (or just an extra special bonus) of my series on all the books I read in 2019. I love having a structured Bible Study to go through, so this is a hodgepodge of the different kinds I did this year. Some were with groups, and some on my own. If you're interested in a good book on developing a Bible study method, I highly recommend Jen Wilkin's book Women of the Word. I just read it a few weeks ago and it has been a great resource for me, although not a Bible study in and of itself.

All the Books I Read in 2019 – Nonfiction

If you haven’t yet and feel so inclined, please go back and read the first part of this post All the Books I Read in 2019 Fiction And now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, here’s my favorite part – the nonfiction edition. I read a LOT more nonfiction than fiction this year, and I think I covered a pretty large range of topics, but for the purpose of this post I’ve broken them down into 3 main categories – Christianity, Motherhood/Parenting, and History & Biographies. I’m not going to give summaries for every book, but I did highlight my top 3 books in purple, in case you were…

All the Books I Read in 2019 – Fiction

Last year I shared All the Books I Read in 2018 and shared with you all how I planned to make reading more of a priority for myself in 2019. And I'm so proud of how far I've come since this time last year...I've read probably triple the number of books. I finally feel like I'm back to my pre-college self who loved reading for fun. Not to mention, I once again have an attention span longer than 2 seconds (thanks smartphones) which I'm SO glad about. I genuinely believe that creating good reading habits can benefit so many other aspects of your life, and I've definitely seen that when it…

    Books to Read my Daughter

Reading has always been a major aspect of my daily life. When my siblings and I were young, our parents would read the Bible, classic Children's books, and humorous short stories to us on what seemed to be a daily basis. From the time I could read on my own, I would read myself to sleep every night. Growing up, reading was about so much more than basic literacy. Reading taught me to use my imagination, to engage with history, and it instilled real-life values in meaningful ways. As a new mom, I want to pass these things on to my daughter. The best way I know how is to…

All the Books I Read in 2018

I have to admit, this was not my best year for reading...which has led me to make reading more of a priority in my goals for 2019. I had high aspirations for reading more since I had more free time this year than in the past 5+ years, but while it wasn't my best year for reading, I did manage to average about 1 book a month, so these are the books I read in 2018. Sitting at the Feet of Rabbi Jesus I read this book in the Spring along with a PWOC bible study group on base, and it was sooo good. The book helped me to understand…

The Best Musicals of All Time (in my own humble and accurate opinion.)

If you know anything about my family, you know we are very opinionated about our musicals. Growing up we watched a ton of old movies, and many old movies just happen to be musicals. That being said, I've spent a lifetime refining my taste in musical movies, and have therefore dubbed myself an expert in the field. So, without further ado, I present you with: The Definitive Ranking of Movie Musicals (in my own humble and accurate opinion.)   1. The Sound of Music. via GIPHY I'll start this list with the obvious because The Sound of Music is hands down the best musical of all time. The story, the songs,…
