It’s been a while since I did a roundup of some of my favorite things, so this week I’m sharing a few “Friday Favorites” from podcasts, to insta feeds, to tv shows that I’ve been really enjoying this month. I hope this Friday Favorites roundup helps you find some new things that you absolutely love!
Podcast: Marked (Lifeway Women)
I’ve only listened to a few episodes of this podcast so far, but I’ve loved what I’ve heard! Each episode is basically an interview of a different Christian author or speaker. It’s a fun way to learn more about some of your favorite authors like Christine Caine, Beth Moore, Kelly Minter, Jackie Hill Perry, and Lisa Harper – just to name a few.
Insta: Beaming Arrows
Cori is so sweet and always shares the most adorable pictures of her family. Plus she has great taste in baby clothes and takes the BEST flatlays!

A little snippet into our Sunday morning. We’d usually be getting ready to attend morning service, but last night I was plagued with what’s known as the common cold and this morning was no different. My oldest jewel came into our room also complaining of the same symptoms. Henceforth, we brought morning service into our living room. We are the church, and while the fellowship of our brothers and sisters in Christ is unmatched, it is truly up to ourselves to represent and teach HIM to our arrows. . . . . #unitedinmotherhood #militarylife #habitandhome #seekthesimplicity #thehappynow #nottodaysatan #candidchildhood #our_everyday_moments #sundayfunday #motherhoodintheraw #momtogs #humansofjoy #nothingisordinary
Bible Study: Lord, I Want to Know You by Kay Arthur
Ivan and I both started this book a few weeks ago after it was given to us by a friend and it has been sooo good! It goes through the different names of God and how each name represents an aspect of God’s character. I’m only 1/4 of the way through, but I already highly recommend this book.
TV Show: The Waltons
I had watched all of The Waltons when I was (much) younger, so I already knew I liked them (have I mentioned I watch a lot of old TV and Movies?). But Amazon recently added them to Prime, so I’ve been introducing Ivan to them and we’ve really enjoyed watching it together. It’s just such a classic, wholesome, and heartwarming show.
Charity: Camp Rap-A-Hope
September is Childhood Cancer awareness month, so I thought it would be a great time to share one of my all-time favorite things – CAMP! Camp Rap-A-Hope is a week-long children’s oncology camp, and I’ve had the privilege of volunteering as a counselor for the past 5 summers. It’s such a great organization – and this month for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month they are hosting a T-Shirt Fundraiser here.
Movie: Same Kind of Different as Me
I read this book several years ago, so I was excited to learn it was going to become a movie – but for some reason, it took me a year to get around to seeing it. I’m glad I finally watched it, it had been so long since I read the book that I had forgotten some major plot points. (This is one of my superpowers. I can watch the same movie over and over and still be surprised by the ending.) I thought it was well-done, and not as cheesy as many movies in the same vein.
I’ve been listening to this song on repeat lately. It’s so good and different. You should give it a listen.
Recipe: Creamy Tomato Tortellini Soup
I made this a few times last winter, so as soon as we get some cooler days in El Paso, it’s one of the first things on my “to cook” list. Just think of like the best tomato soup ever PLUS pasta. It’s a match made in heaven.
Let me know what you think of this Friday Favorites roundup! Do we have any favorite things in common?
